BIOGRAPHY

Lauren Tademy, LMFT-A, is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist-Associate at the OCD Institute of Texas. Lauren is passionate about working with couples and families at every stage of life and aims to support populations navigating OCD, anxiety disorders, communication issues, and trauma. 


Lauren received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a minor in Human Development in Family Studies at the University of North Texas. She then went to obtain her Masters of Science degree in Marriage and Family Therapy at Texas Woman’s University. Lauren began her clinical training through the PHP/IOP programs at Connections Wellness Group in DFW. During this time, Lauren worked with adolescents and adults managing severe depression, anxiety disorders, suicidality, substance use disorders, personality disorders, and trauma. While gaining hands-on experience in this clinical setting, Lauren also participated in the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy’s Youth Minority Fellowship Program. Through MFP-Y, she received further training in providing therapeutic support to ethnic and sexual minorities through a culturally competent and trauma-informed approach.

 

Upon completing her master’s level training, Lauren worked in private practice settings with a focus on couples and families. During this time, she specialized in communication issues, extramarital affairs, compulsive sexual behaviors, and trauma. Lauren is passionate about supporting individuals, couples, and families in building functional lives and relationships. Her diverse background allows her to take a flexible approach with clients and find an avenue for treatment that best supports their needs. In her current work, she implements behavioral therapy interventions with compassion, humor, and non-judgement to guide clients effectively toward their treatment goals.
